Control Method

As licensed Fur Managers, SWMS has the ability to not only live-trap and relocate unwanted wildlife, but also the ability to humanely euthanize problem animals.

SWMS can live-trap an animal and as required by law, that animal may be relocated anywhere within a 1 kilometre radius of the capture site.

In some instances SWMS uses “one-way door technology” to remove animals from buildings and then secure the site so re-entry should not occur.

In unique situations, when a chronic wildlife problem exists or with animals that cannot be trapped and relocated, SWMS employees are licensed under the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) as Fur Managers. This allows SWMS to act as Agents of the Crown and permits them to remove and euthanize problem animals should the situation warrant it. SWMS only uses approved trapping methods and traps that have been certified under the “Agreement on International Humane Trapping Standards (AIHTS).”

Ed Skrabek is a certified trapping instructor and as such has Pest Control Company personnel coming to him to learn how to trap.

SWMS can help remove skunks, squirrels, raccoons, beavers and other animals from your property.

Once the animal(s) have been removed, SWMS will seal your premises to prevent any problems from reoccurring. Suggestions will be made to make your home less desirable to unwanted wildlife.

Once the animal(s) have been removed and all entrances sealed, SWMS will provide clean-up, proofing and repairs to the extent of their qualifications.
